DOG SCENTS with SnifferDog

Dogs that are young and old... dogs trained and untrailed...

Teach your dog to find scents, objects with fun and games

Teaching scent work to dogs has enjoyed a recent revival among dog trainers. Scent work is all about communication, and this class teaches you how to observe your dog while working together as a team.

Snifferdog Sport is a non-competitive recreational activity similar to going on a treasure hunt or geocaching with your dog. Through human-dog teamwork will you complete the course; anyone who finishes wins! Come learn the fundamentals of teaching your dog to search for items by scent.

Dogs see the world through their noses. By doing scent exercises with your dog, your relationship will progress to a whole new level. Learn to read your dog's body language and decipher how your pet tells you he's found a sought-after object.

Once you learn the basics, come participate in various Snifferdog Sport activities! We start in a building and after advancing head to parks and trails with maps in hand. Scented items are hidden along a trail You mark off where your dog found the scent and return with your map. Great fun!

Treibball

Put your dog's mind and body to work with Treibball! Treibball is a fast-paced sport for folks that don't have the time or money to invest in a flock of sheep for their dog to practice herding. We teach introductory ball-herding techniques to your dog; once mastered, your pup progresses to practicing with bigger balls.

The game is played with eight (8) fitness-type balls and a goal. The handler directs the dog to the ball furthest away from the net.

Smaller dogs herd smaller balls and the larger dogs herd bigger balls.

The dog can only use his nose or shoulder to herd each ball into the net in fifteen (15) minutes. Once all balls are in the net, the dog lies down in front, just like penning sheep!

Start easy in our beginner class. We help you teach your dog to push the balls into the net, they learn what to do when they hear the handler's whistle, and much more.

If your dog is excitable and energetic, Treibball may be the perfect recreational activity for him. This sport is guaranteed fun for all dogs, not just herding breeds!

**Remember to bring your own ball to class so you will have one to practice with at home!**
